Day 5 – Set up For Success

Welcome to Day 5 – Set YourSelf up for Success!

I like to think of this as giving ourself a gift.  What can we set up today, that gifts us more focus, time and productivity tomorrow?

That is the million dollar question in today’s closing FOCUS Task!

What can you do TODAY to set you up for success TOMORROW?

It’s quick, simple but very powerful.  When I first did this exercise I put out my clothes for the next day the night before.  I was lovely to be able to get up and thank myself for making the day easier.

I’ll be reaching out to you over the next few days just to catch up and chat about more ways we can keep your FOCUS practice in play mode, when you need it.

Day 4 – Understanding

Welcome to Day 4 – Understanding Yourself Better

So why on earth would we want to understand ourselves better?

When we seek to better understand out thoughts, emotions and actions, we realize how much is conditioned by our surroundings. It’s not actually who we are.  It’s conditioning.

Once we understand that we have to opportunity to let them go.  And that’s liberating!  That’s change!

Self mastery is what we seek so we can continually evolve to be the best we can be for ourselves and others.

I’ve found a unique way to understand ourselves better is to take a RISK!  Taking a risk means that the outcome is unknown. For many of us, that fear of the ‘what can happen’ stops us from moving forward.

In order to better understand ourselves and self reflect, let’s take some risk and see what happens.

It can be a big or small risk.  It’s what you are comfortably uncomfortable with.  If a risk doesn’t present to you today, at least you are thinking about it.  You are still aware of it.  That is understanding yourself better in order to create more focus!

Day 3 – Clarity

Welcome to Day 3 of 5 Days of FOCUS

Clarity is the ‘C’ in our clever and creative acronym! This is our longer task and lesson but it’s still pretty short and pack a real power punch for our mind and body.

I highly recommend you watch the video AND read the for our day 3!

Today we learn a Japa Meditation.

Japa in Sanskrit means muttering.  In this meditation we repeat a word, mantra or divine name.

It is rhythmic and calming.   Of all the meditations I teach, this one creates the biggest most profound positive response!

This meditation activates the slower Alpha brain wave for FOCUS and Learning.  My-Oh-My how appropriate!

The Alpha brain wave is stimulated when you are not focsing on too much.  Today, relax our minds to create more focus.

Pick a word that resonates with you.  Here are some examples but the possibilities are infinite!

  • ease
  • relax
  • calm
  • divine
  • love
  • all is love
  • Anchored
  • Dedicated

So what word are you feeling on your heart today?

Take out your phone (that now only has 3 apps open on your home screen, right?) and set a timer for two minutes.

Sit comfortable in a chair with both feet on the ground or sit on the ground.  Just get comfortable.  Begin to breathe.

After you have taken a few breaths to center… begin your repetition.

Day 1 – FOCUS

Day 1  of  The 5 Day FOCUS experience!

I used to think Acronyms were kind of cheesy but then I created this one for FOCUS and I must admit, I feel creative and clever!

Creating the Acronym helped me focus in on the intentions of our 5 days together and frankly, energized me!

In case you were not able to join our Kick Off Zoom and Coaching session, Here is that Clever acronym for our 5 Days of FOCUS

Clarity in Intention

So Today’s FOCUS task is….

FEED YOUR CREATIVITY!

Use your Planner Space and Don’t forget to mark your micro goal today!

Steve Jobs said, “Creativity is connecting things.”

So, let’s begin to connect things…

  • Connect your thoughts to paper
  • Connect the colors you see or that are in your mind to a blank canvas.
  • Find a one word intention this week and create an Acronym.  (Sorry, you can’t use mine.. that’s cheating!)
  • Connect to your deeper self by a meditation!  (or a class within our membership that you have access to!)
  • Connect your wild side to song and movement!

Creativity is vitality.  Vitality is strong and focused energy!

And remember, creating sustainable focus is ongoing work.  It’s not a one and done kind of things… BUT all of these tasks are instant gratification!

You got this!

I’ll see you tomorrow as I give you a simple, unique and maybe a little nerve racking FOCUS task!  ( come on… let’s get a little uncomfortable!  What do ya say?)
