Make a Date… With Yourself

Hello Yinster, I hope you have had an awesome week so far.

So from last week’s tip, did you spend the first 5 minutes of every day focusing on you and only you? If so I’m curious, did it change your mindset for the day? What difference about yourself do you notice? 

Are you ready to hear this week’s self care tip? I’m super excited to share it with you. 

Date yourself! 

Yes I’m serious, I mean go all out. Think about what a perfect date looks like to you. Now Pick a date and time, mark it on your calendar. Buy yourself a nice outfit. Pull out all the stops.

How many times in your life have you gone through this experience where you’re putting your best self out there to try and find love from someone else?  

Guess what, it’s time to find love for yourself.

:Loving yourself will help you build self-confidence, self worth, and over all you will feel more positive. When you learn to love yourself, self care will come easier.

I can not wait to hear how your first date goes 😘.

The Critical First 5 Minutes of Your Day

How often do we hit the ground running in the morning?  We’re in “Go Mode”.   

We’re already focusing on the tasks ahead. 

Why is it that we often allow our to-do list to come before our own well-being? Let’s change that! 

This weekend, I challenge you to wake up and spend the first 5 minutes to ask yourself…

  • How am I feeling?
  • What do I need today? 
  • What do I want from today?

Sound too simple to be true?  Well sometimes simple is not easy!  Place a sticky note by your bed every morning so you know remember this!  It takes repetitive practice. 

Remember small steps Rome wasn’t built in a day 😉.

Recharge for Fall

It’s here!  Can you feel it and smell it all around?  The Fall season is upon us as we begin our final leg of this most interesting year.

In the Fall a tree will loose its leaves.  The leaves wobble to the ground as they begin to settle on the ground.  We are comparably those leaves. 

Perhaps you’ve been feeling a bit unsettled as wobble through the season.  Have you noticed a feeling of an unsettled mind recently?

This month I’m reading the book, Deep Work by Cal Newport.  He writes about the lost art of long bouts of time in deep thought on one subject. 

He says that when we can practice Deep Work, then we build the skill of attention and this increased attention bleeds into the shallow moments and we more skillfully change the outcome of anything. 

He even goes as far as to scientifically prove this! 
 

So in this month of October, what will you be paying attention to?

When we strengthen the skill of attention, we can produce more positive outcomes!

I know this might seem weird coming from a Gal that preaches stillness of the mind, but we are striving to find a balance and harmony as we don’t want the mind to become dull.  

What ever you decide to focus on during October, keep you attention on your intention!

Meditation is a form of concentration on one point.  It allows us to dive into deep work inward.  Meditation will also allow you to clear the mind so you can create clarity in your deep thoughts.

Launch Party for our TV Show

During the months of July and August I self quarantined quite a bit as I was frequently sneaking off to Dallas to film our new Talk Show! So I kinda became a hermit but a very healthy hermit.

Earlier this year, I became a co owner of the new Sawubona Sister Gathering, LLC.
We are a Sisterhood with a heart lead purpose of seeing women for exactly who they are. We are a platform for women to dive deeper into relevant topics without the feeling of judgement.

Our Talk show is a platform for these topics and we want you to come sit on the couch with us and chat! This new adventure is an extension of what Modern Yinster offers.  Every experience at Sawubona Sister Gatherings will leave you feeling connected and full!

This Sunday, September 20th, we will be unveiling our new live-streaming show! I’d love for you to be there why we explain how this came about, back stage whoopsie – daisies and how to get this show into your living room!
